| 6 FEB - Waitangi Day - Normal schedule FEB TEACHING SCHEDULE Subject to change.
Liberate your practice! EXPANDED CLASS SCHEDULE BEGINS 23 JAN - NO BOOKING NECESSARY -
With over 30 classes a week now, it's no longer necessary to book for a class. The Summer Schedule has been expanded to accommodate more students at peak times and teacher training goes on the road to Auckland next year. These changes make more spaces available for everyone at every class.
As always, it's good yoga practice to be present 15 minutes before a class begins to come into the Now and fully enjoy your time on the mat.
Please choose your class attendance with the intention to stay for the entire session. We understand there are rare exceptions, but to ensure a safe and quality experience for group practice it is considered good yogi etiquette to stay until the teacher has signaled the end of class. Final Savasana is an especially healing and integrative time for many, stillness and quiet essential. Thank you for respecting your time on the mat and the dynamic power of a complete group practice. Namaste
TESTIMONIALS Thank you for guiding us through and for leaving the choice of what to take from each class up to us. For me yoga is not so much about the movement of my body but more about where my mind goes within each movement. The knowing that for the time that each class takes, I have no better place to be, nothing I need to say to anyone else, no problems to fix except to just focus on an honest dialogue with myself. Thank you for constantly encouraging to let go of what no longer serves us. - Sarah
I’ve learned a lot about myself on this journey to New Zealand by practising at Hot Yoga on a frequent basis. It really helped me find what’s important, thank you. - Marla

Classes
| Hot Yoga Our core class. The room is heat infused to prevent injury, promote detoxification and enhance a deeper release within the body. Fresh air is circulated and humidity is raised to make conditions ideal for a foundational sequence of 25-30 postures that vary slightly each class to strengthen bones and muscles and keep the mind-body connection sharp—a total body workout! Suitable for the beginner, intermediate or advanced practitioner. 60 to 90 minutes as scheduled.
HOT HAPPY HOUR! Heat up your Friday nights with this special 2 for 1, one-hour hot class. (First Class Students $7. All others 2 for 1 entry!) Friday eves 6 - 7 pm!
| Power Vinyasa (PV) A vibrant and inspiring practice that leaves you glowing with that “yoga buzz.” Power Vinyasa is a “flow style” class that combines instruction on form, alignment, flow and strength and power and balance. A continuous rhythm of breath awakens and reconnects you to a stronger and stress-free self. The room is moderately heated. All levels welcome. 60 to 75 minutes as scheduled.
PV Level II - Jazz up your Friday afternoons with this special Level II Power Vinyasa flow class. More advanced inversions, balancing and core work is explored. Great preparatory work for PV Master Classes (See Special Events below for more on PV Master Classes). Fridays 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
| Yin Yoga Yin Yoga concentrates on floor postures that stretch connective tissue, the ligaments and fascia that bind bone-to-bone at the joints. Connective tissue does not stretch like muscle and takes more time to improve mobility and strength. For this reason the room is moderately warmed and postures are held for longer periods of time. Uplifting music and soft lighting are often incorporated to further calm the mind and release the spiritual potential this practice offers. Perfect for beginners. Also great for top-notch athletes wanting to protect and strengthen their joints. 60 to 90 minutes as scheduled.
| Hot Yoga Sampler Curious or little intimidated about hot yoga? These classes are open to anyone wanting to check out the hot yoga scene and experience a taste of the three major modalities we offer: Hot Yoga, Power Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Every 75-minute class starts with basic breathing techniques, followed by standing postures, a short flow sequence and finally some delicious yin-styled floor stretching poses. You do what you can. You'll learn something new each class developing a strong foundation. All levels welcome. Room is heated. 75 minutes. First time students must arrive 20 early to register and discuss any special needs with the instructor.

| Mantra & Meditation Course with Adhyatma Mon & Thur eves 8:15 – 9:15 pm
Two Courses Offered! 30 Jan – 9 Feb / 27 Feb – 8 Mar
This four-class course explores the subtle, healing and transformative practice of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound. Meditation and relaxation techniques are highlighted on this exploration of the healing sound vibrations of Sanskrit mantra. The ancient language of Sanskrit is said to have been channelled by great sages who were tuned into the frequencies of the cosmos and the subtle internal sounds of consciousness.
You will learn: About the chakras (energy centres of the body)How mantra and sound purifies, balances and awakens each centreYoga Nidra techniques (See more below) More specifically, you will learn about Swara, the chakra toning scales that is practiced along with the bija mantras which are the seed sounds of the chakras, used to awaken dormant energies in the body. The meditation practice of awareness of internal sounds will be taught along with other meditation techniques that support and enhance deep peacefulness and inner wisdom. You will also practice some of the techniques of Satyananda Yoga Nidra™, a relaxation technique where the body sleeps but the mind stays alert and active in a space between waking and sleeping known as the hypnogogic state. In this space you will attune to the sounds of the mantras and explore the chakras and the effects of the sounds on the psychic body. ABOUT ADHYATMA:Following the classical traditions of Satyananda Yoga®, Adhyatma’s classes have a strong emphasis on breathing and creating a meditative relaxed awareness. She believes anyone can do yoga. Through her experience living in ashrams she experienced that yoga is more of an attitude that can be cultivated through simplicity and regularity of lifestyle. This belief has greatly influenced her 10-year career as yoga teacher as she enjoys taking yoga into areas of society where it would not normally be accessed, places like pre-natal schools, the corporate world and prisons. Her passion is Mantra chanting and Kirtan. Hot Yoga is honoured to welcome Adhyatma to Wellington as she helps others discover their own path towards connecting with the divine and healing self-awareness. COST: $45 (Year Member Discount applies.) Course may be repeated more than once.
